Hostage Negotiation,

Mon Jun 09, 2008 at 10:26:48 AM PDT

Even after Hillary Clinton has conceded and asked her supporters to turn their passion for her candidacy into determination for getting a Democrat into the White House.  But it is becoming more and more apparent that a lot of her supporters did not get the memo.

As Clinton wrapped up her remarks Saturday in Washington with a plea for supporters to work "as hard for Barack Obama as you have for me," many were posting messages saying they would never vote for the presumptive Democratic nominee. A few even called on her backers to visit Sen. John McCain's campaign Web site.

"I love her and will vote for her in 2012, but it's McCain all the way now," wrote one within moments of the former first lady's address.

Who is bitter - Obama, or small town people?

Sun Apr 13, 2008 at 01:50:13 PM PDT

I’ve always heard Senator Obama is a great orator who can present black as white and white as black, as what he did in his race speech. I have to say he just showed me another perfect example.

Now I understood that the small town people cling to guns and religions because they are bitter. I just have one question for Senator Obama: what is the reason he, and Wright cling to religion? Are they bitter? I am sure those who says s/he is first proud of American in 40 some years are not bitter; those who yelled "God damn America" are not bitter; those who yelled "US of KKKA" are not bitter; but those who prayed "God bless America" are.

Pretty amazing, isn’t it?

Obama -- finally -- getting the bad press

Thu Feb 21, 2008 at 01:50:43 PM PDT

While everyone has been swept up into the never-never land of Obamamania, things may be finally changing for the change poster-boy. Now that he is the frontrunner, some scrutinizing and outright bad press is finally coming his way.

the guy is sooooooo awesome.

he isn't about the dirty tricks, triangulating, cynical politics of the clinton campaign.

obama is the real deal. he will bring change to this country. change that we can all believe in. real change.

yup. obama is a super groovy dude with the real ability to change things and give us hope.

and i don't need details. i need rhetoric.

obama is a mirror image of jfk, even though his likeness to jfk is limited to the endorsements of a couple of kennedys.

obama is mlk, even though he hasn't even flurted with the "change" that mlk brought.

yep, obama is change,

Grapes "unacceptable" claims Fox

Sat Aug 18, 2007 at 05:53:46 PM PDT

(AP) Reynard Fox, former CEO of FOX communications, has rejected a deal that would have seen the magnate reap a bonus-and-benefits bonanza unparalelled in recent history.

While legal issues and shareholder dissent made the as-offered CEO-package problematic, Fox said he would bide his time and consult with staff.

"These grapes are sour," said Fox. "At this time, they're unacceptable."

The war within: a liberal contemplates voting Republican

Thu Aug 10, 2006 at 07:23:22 AM PDT

Considering that I've long considered myself staunchly liberal, this is deeply troubling.  I'm one of the few women today who consistently calls herself a feminist; I believe in gay marriage; in fact I'm a former employee of the ACLU.  I'm the kind of liberal who still has a visceral gut reaction upon being told by someone who voted for and still staunchly supports GWBush (though this gut reaction is usually for about 2 seconds, and I make a special effort to listen to the person's argument).  I absolutely do not agree with the man's style of leadership, the man's policies, the man's attitudes, or his outlook towards the world.

And yet, I find myself deeply troubled by the level of vitriol leveled against longtime Democrat Joe Lieberman.  While there are, I'm sure, numerous other allegations against Lieberman, the main source of angst seems to be his previous and ongoing support for the Iraq war.

What Lieberman's loss really means.....

Wed Aug 09, 2006 at 06:29:35 AM PDT

The democrats have shot themselves in the foot again.  I believe that the loss in the election hurts democrats.  What we have done is made it more easy for a republican to take this seat.

I believe that Lieberman voted with the party about 90 percent of the time.  How is that not good enough?  Is it 100 percent or nothing?

Unbelieveable.

The most likely scenario, I believe, is that Lieberman wins the election and keeps his seat.  In this scenario, we have alienated a democrat that agreed and voted with us most of the time.  Now he is going to be less likely to adhere to the party line.

The second most likely scenario is that a fractured democratic party produces a republican victory.

The third scenario is that Lamont wins, and if he wins, we gain.  If he votes the party line and if I was right and Lieberman voted with the party 90 percent of the time, we gain 10 percent.

Is a 10 percent gain worth the risks?  I am sure to you liberals, it is but to us conservative democrats, its not.

Of course, all that being said, its not my senator, its yours.
